Hey Foto Fam!
My name is PJ or Parag, and I'll keep this short and sweet. My journey with Foto began when I transferred from a satellite campus to the main campus at Penn State. Back then, I didn't have many friends, but I met Matt Roseman through the few friends I had, and that changed everything.
Initially, I started attending Foto meetings sporadically. Juggling multiple commitments made it tough to be consistent, and honestly, I regretted not being more involved. Realizing this, I made a promise to myself: in my last year, when Matt was president, I'd attend every meeting without fail. And guess what? I didn't regret it one bit!
Being actively involved in Foto was more than just attending meetings; it was about creating bonds. The friends I made here are not just for the short term but for life. Participating in activities like the weekly bake sale was a game changer for me. It was in these small, consistent gatherings that I found lifelong friendships and my sense of belonging.
To the underclassmen, here's my little nugget of wisdom: involvement is key. It's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of studies and personal commitments, but remember, these experiences, these friendships, and these moments are what you'll carry with you long after you've left these halls. Make the most of it, be present, and dive into all that Foto and Penn State Thon have to offer.
Stay involved, stay connected, and most importantly, cherish these moments. They truly are once in a lifetime.
Forever grateful,
PJ
