I am Tim Cicala and I was blessed to be a FOTO member during my time at Penn state from 2015-2019. I served as VP, fundraising chair, and donor & alumni relations chair.

First of all, thanks to all of you for showing up today and for being actively involved in the worlds greatest philanthropic organization. With THON 2022 being so close, I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how important these next few weeks will be for FOTO & THON. I know I am speaking for all FOTO alums when I say we are grateful for all that you do and we are counting on you to continue the legacy of FOTO that was built up over generations of Penn State students.

There is no doubt that my FOTO experience was far and away the most impactful thing that happened to me over my short time as a Penn State student. And yes, that time was certainly short so please savor every moment you have and live life to the fullest while you are here. I can tell you that my connection to FOTO is deep and that a wave of emotion comes over me when I think back on the countless memories that were made as a result of my decision to join this organization. I can tell you that Megan, Logan, & Matty are some of the bravest, smartest, funniest, and kindest kids I have ever met. They, along with their amazing families, have taught me more than any professor could. I am so honored and proud to have been a part of FOTO and to have had a hand in the ginormous impact it has had on the lives of so many.

I want to thank you all again for being here today and for continuing to fight the good fight. Remember always that being a part of FOTO means being a part of something bigger than yourself. You get out of it what you put into it — so give it your all. Continue to do what’s right even when times get tough. We are all counting on you. I can assure you that your efforts are appreciated beyond measure by the Fountaines, the Eslingers, the Knapers, the Tramels, and all the amazing families that have been positively impacted by FOTO.

Thanks for taking the time to hear my input. Best of luck to you all in THON 2022!
