Happy Monday FOTO!! Hi to all returning members and welcome newbies to the best org at Penn State. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Olivia Body, call me some form of that name and I’ll answer. I wouldn’t be able to talk about my time at state without mentioning FOTO. FOTO introduced me to my best friends, the greatest families and the inspiring event that is THON. Everyone will tell you this, but you get out of FOTO what you put in so go to every fundraiser, MEET OUR FAMILIES, send THONvelopes, and get to know the people in this room. Speaking of our families, yes they are as great as they seem. You will never have a bad day if it’s spent with them. My time with our families has inspired me to pursue a career as an occupational therapist (yeah I know no one knows what this is) for those with pediatric cancer.
THON weekend seems far away but it will be here before you know and 46 hours will fly by, soak it all in and stay as long as you can! Enjoy this year and however many more you have because soon you’ll be like me: a grad student (or employed or unemployed that’s cool too) who misses FOTO, Penn State and the Phyrst everyday. Believe it when they say FOTO is family. I love you all, I’m rooting for you and can’t wait to see what this year will bring!
