Hey everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Matt Roseman and I was the president of FOTO for THON 2022.
You guys are SO CLOSE to the best weekend of the year!! I’m going to briefly echo what I’m sure pretty much every other alumni has said, but you get out what you put into this weekend. Some of you may just want people to stand with for a few hours and see what THON is about, and that is absolutely fine. Some of you put your heart and soul into this org and this is the weekend you see the benefits of all your hard work. No matter who you are, I would challenge you to branch out of your comfort zone a little bit and just see what amazing things stem from the weekend.
Stay an extra few hours, try a night shift, get up early on Sunday and get a spot for final four (HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!), or just try to reach out to a few new people.
If you put your all into it, the weekend is tough, but one of the most rewarding things you can do at Penn State (I might be biased…). My best friends and some of my best memories were made during that weekend, so go and get a first hand on why what your doing MATTERS to each and every one of those families.
I just wanted to touch on something that I’m sure you hear a lot about, but really is what allows FOTO to support these families and send so many amazing people to represent our org on the floor THON weekend. Almost 50% of FOTO 2023’s fundraising total was raised in these last two weeks. Just taking a few minutes to PERSONALLY text, call or email friends and family is appreciated more than you know and truly makes a difference in not only what we can do for our families and THON as a whole, but also in what FOTO can accomplish and do for each member.
