I say this constantly, but FOTO is the greatest thing I have ever been apart of. From the day that I stopped at the FOTO table at the involvement fair, I knew this was the org for me. I never felt so included in a such a tight knit group in my life. My greatest FOTO memory was by far dancing in 2015. It was the most challenging weekend of my life, but the greatest weekend of my life. Another memory I love was going to see Logan one day when he wasn’t feeling too great. This was Logan’s last year of treatment (YAY!) and FOTO made sure to be with him every step of the way. We went to visit him one day and seeing his face light up when we pulled up to the house was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. We knew he wasn’t feeling great, but you would never know. He even beat me at Disney Scene-It, and of you know me, you know how much I know my Disney.
FOTO is family is such a simple phrase, but means so much to me. FOTO really means family, and it means unconditional love. To this day, I am still so close with so many of the people I met because of FOTO, even living so far away from everyone. I’m so lucky to have met friends who just get me, and are always there for me even from hundreds of miles away. That’s family. And that is FOTO.
To the current FOTO members, I’ll leave you with this. This is the greatest time of your life, and these are some of the greatest people you’ll ever meet. It’s going to go by in the blink of an eye, so appreciate every little moment. Go on every family visit you can, help out at every fundraiser, and enjoy every second of it. Kids like Megan, Logan and Matty are the reasons you are in FOTO. To help amazing kids like them. You’re all beautiful, beautiful people and I’m insanely jealous that you’re still going to meetings and socials and fundraisers. I’d do anything to go back and do it all again. So take it from the alumni who will never let go...appreciate it all!!! FTK forever and always!
